POOR FELLAS is six short plays, all comic vignettes about the perils of love, solitude, and knowledge. From a minor league bullpen to a Catholic school classroom to a nightclub men's room, POOR FELLAS examines what men are looking for in life and what they fail to see. A synopsis of each play is attached.

Playwright Marc Palmieri turned to writing after giving up his first love, baseball. Marc had a 90 mph fastball when he was a student at Wake Forest College. After being drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays, Marc sold his first screenplay, "Telling You". The film was produced in 1997 starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, and is distributed by Miramax films. Marc now has one film in pre-production for an autumn 2000 shoot, and his television pilot, "In The Game", was recently acquired by the producing team of Susanne and Jennifer Todd (of "Austin Powers" and "The Boiler Room" fame). Also an actor, he is currently appearing in David Maquiling's film "Too Much Sleep".

The cast for POOR FELLAS includes George Demas, Lee Dobson, Michael Lawrence, Marla Mervis, Brian Sloan, Carlo Trigiani, and Christopher Wolk. The director is Tony P. Pennino. Curt Beach will handle lighting design.

POOR FELLAS will begin performances on Thursday, June 1st, for a Monday, June 5th opening, and will play through June 24th. Performances will be Wednesday through Saturday at 8:00 pm, with a special opening night performance Monday, June 5th at 8pm.
